Flood alerts across parts of Wrexham have been issued following days of heavy rain and the aftermath of ‘Storm Jonas’.

The flood alert has been issued today by Natural Resources Wales and covers the Lower Dee Valley from Llangollen to Trevalyn Meadows area.

The warning comes as a result of several spells of heavy rain over the past few days. Further rain is also forecast for Wrexham on Thursday and across Sunday.

Natural Resources Wales state that river levels in this particular area are above the normal level and that the situation is ‘being monitored’.

As a result of the higher than normal water levels, there is a risk of localised flooding in some parts of Wrexham.

Flood alerts and warnings were in place across Wrexham throughout December and the start of January, with heavy rain causing flooding across Bangor-on-Dee. You can view the flooding pictures sent to us last month, here.
