A dog has been seized by police after it attacked a child and his father in Wrexham yesterday evening.

Early yesterday evening a four-year-old boy and his father were wounded after a Staffordshire Bull Terrier attacked the pair near their home in Rhosymedre.

One neighbour, who wishes to remain anonymous, told Wrexham.com that around 8pm last night they heard a ‘terrible scream’ outside. When the neighbour went outside they saw the child and his father covered in blood.

A family member has since said the child suffered a ‘nasty bruise’, with the father’s arm injured and ‘in a bad way’ after the attack.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: “We can confirm that we received a call just after 8.05pm last night (July 29th) reporting that a dog had bitten an adult and a child in the Rhosymedre area.

“Officers attended and the dog has been seized.

“Police inquiries are continuing.”
