A reader has been in touch to let us know that dirty water is once again coming out of taps in parts of Wrexham – this time Pen-Y-Bryn ! Overnight the previously clear supply has taken a brown tinge – as pictured.

In recent months we have reported a couple of instances where Wrexham’s water supply has been affected by discolouration.

Dee Valley Water have previously indicated that faults in the supply, extreme weather or high usage can affect the colour of water as previously undisturbed ‘deposits’ end up in the supply.

Our weather station recorded a rainfall of 24.9mm , or 0.98 inches, of rain over the last day so we would imagine that such an out of the ordinary weather event would tie in with such issues.

UPDATE 3pm: Residents are now telling us that the water is running clear again!
