Acclaimed ‘Gold Star’ Award For Two Local Independent Eateries
Two independent eateries in Wrexham have been awarded with a ‘Gold Star’ accolade by a global custom review website.
Emz Cakes Creative Cafe on Chester Street and The Lemon Tree Restaurant with Rooms on Rhosddu Road, have been recognised as ‘Gold Star’ businesses in the latest TripAdvisor Awards.
The global custom review website has awarded the two businesses with the acclaimed ‘Gold Star; standard based on the level of customer satisfaction ratings received.
Both businesses have already experienced a year of highs, with each being shortlisted for Wrexham Tourism Ambassador Awards last October.
More recently Emz Cakes celebrated their second birthday, whilst the Lemon Tree has continued to thrive under new ownership over the last 18 months. During this time, both businesses have also struck up a good rapport – with Emz Cakes now supplying diners at the Lemon Tree with cupcakes, biscuits and other sweet treats.
Emma Wilson, owner at Emz Cakes Café on Chester Street was thrilled to receive the award. She said” “Having this award from TripAdvisor will really help our business further – as we really value the reviews from customers on TripAdvisor as they’re impartial and resultantly act as a trusted quality mark by many visitors looking for somewhere great to eat in town.
“It’s been an absolutely fantastic few weeks thanks to this award and of course having our 2nd birthday last weekend as part of the Wrexham Street Festival celebrations!”
Sam Regan, who has been the owner of the Lemon Tree Restaurant with Rooms for just over 18 months, stated that the team were ‘delighted’ with the award.
He added: “Both the restaurant and our accommodation side of the business have had real success since we took over 18-months ago. Our accommodation is really benefitting from midweek corporate business from the University and of course the new prison development – but at a weekend we’re seeing more leisure guests visiting Wrexham too.
“Our restaurant team are also looking forward to next week, when we launch our new summer menu – so it’s exciting times for all of the staff here.”
Finally, Joe Bickerton, Destination Manager at Wrexham County Borough Council added: “These awards are fully deserved, especially as both businesses set a great example of what can be achieved by working together for the good of Wrexham’s tourism industry.
“Both teams have a commitment to fresh, locally sourced produce and delivering a terrific customer experience.
“Our annual tourism figures are due out shortly and based on the vibrancy and togetherness of the sector around the whole County Borough, the Destination Wrexham team are confident of recording an increase on the £100.6m spent by visitors in 2014.”
