Rex HamParticipantI used the word “akin” as defined by the Oxford English dictionary “of similar character”. Yes I am aware that the current Denbighshire Council formed part of the old Clwyd Council.
Whilst “The move of the main Police and custody suite will only effect a very small number of the public” my point was made to indicate the loss of employment that moves LIKE these will have in Wrexham further reducing the footfall in town.
Those on the wrong side of the law literally and figuratively, did not form part of my concerns!!!
Rex HamParticipantYes, the Virgin service is still advertised on their website. Depart Wrexham 07.00 depart Euston 18.10(direct service). Journey time about two and a half hours.

That’s a bit of hard luck then!
Rex HamParticipantI so agree with you ddraig. We still have lots of the top retailers in town, M&S, Debenhams, Next and BHS as well as a host of smaller and local stores, so lets use them. I actually get Christmas gift ideas as I walk around the shops, which for me makes Christmas shopping easier. I actually like to see what I’m buying, so tend not to shop online.
I also look for unusual gifts which I can find in the markets in town, like the coffee and tea shop on High St or the lady who sells jams and chutney in the Butchers Market. Last Christmas a friend mentioned a long lost book he wanted to read again, I found a second hand copy in Wrexham and he was delighted. Much more fun than Amazon!!!
Rex HamParticipantAs an after thought, look at the wood outside Eagles Meadow, that’s not wearing well either!
Rex HamParticipantHum! I thought the same as BenjaminM, but seeing as it has been posted, I’ll add that Wood is the new Tesco house style. It’s ben added to several stores. I gather it makes them seem more “cosy”. As for the original post from Wrexview, why not write to Tesco and tell them about the wooden benches being unhygienic?
Rex HamParticipantClearly Maureen Gray is a new comer to town because she forgot to mention that the council have let slip the tradition of the circus parading it’s animals through town.
I should declare an interest though because I think I was the nice old gentleman she mentioned. My only comment on the incident is to note that she was not wearing the obligatory black leggings and red anorak. A grave disappointment in an otherwise nice 50 shades of Gray moment.
Now what time does the next bus to Corwen leave? I don’t get out very often.
Rex HamParticipantI now park on the Beast Market and walk the few yards to EM. The council charge is (I think) £1.80 for two hours.
Rex HamParticipantThe councillors are the people who were voted on in the first place. Unlike national politics where people vote party first, it tends to be person led at local level. That’s not really a reason to have no confidence. Just my opinion. No science behind the statement.
Rex HamParticipantAfter tonight’s win, the reds are in the play off zone! Mark my words……
