ThorParticipantWell they dont do risk assessments.
They quote Health and Safety yet have no risk assessments
A hazard = something with the Potential to cause harm
A risk =the chance of it happening
To minimise the risk you do a risk assessment
So if Leader stated it was a health and safety risk for public to walk through the council car park
Which is why they resurfsced it
Then where is the risk assessment that backs this up.
And then where are the ones for Salop road and TescoWhich according to their own guidelines get fixed ( filed ) if they are so dangerous to pose a risk.
22K to resurface the car park
They have no funding for other things
What can 22k get you
A Home carer for a Year. Many front line staff for a Year and still have funding to ” Fill the holes ” with a ” bucket of tar “and tap tap tap down with a spade
Oh yes forgot the bucket of tar they dont cost that so thats Free
But cant have a Patchwork quilt at the Guildhall can we chaps
No way thats just not cricket

wrexviewParticipantIf they resurfaced the Councillors Car Park on the grounds of health and safety how come the pot holes at the entrance to the Library Car Park are not resurfaced based on the same criteria? Councillors have to drive over those to get to their new super smooth parking spaces so they must all be aware of them !

Is it possible the contractors made a mistake and did the wrong car Park?

wrexviewParticipantEstate roads are getting priority over main roads, surely the Highways department realise it is the main roads that take the brunt of heavy HGV lorries wear and tear not estate roads. The sink hole is already reappearing on Salop Road and the craters at the junction of Chester Road and Grove Road are back for what must be the fifth time. When will these major routes get a proper repair like Milebarn Road ?
October 8, 2019 at 4:05 pm #175231
ThorParticipantThe Sink hole was Never fixed correctly.
The Massive Crator is re appearing
Yet they claim to check the road Monthly.
How then if checked monthly doesn it take excess of 4 months to fill it.
Salop road is NOT PLANNED for a Resurface. Major link road.
Cause ir may cause disruption.
They can resurface in 5 days had 5 days ( infact actually had 10 ) when Saloo road was Linked to virgin Media
There is adamge drain yet they have NOT AS YET been in contact with Water baord to arrang it to be fixed.
But its fine
They have a Nice New car park

MattParticipantSo let me get this straight they plan to cut £374,000 from the road maintenance budget annually, but in April they stated there’s currently a £50m backlog of potholes to repair.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-47908714
That’s going to work well then. Is the strategy to instead of worrying about the costs spiralling towards hundreds of millions, we just strike off vast miles of road in Wrexham when they get damaged to the extent that they no longer look or function as roads.

ThorParticipantThey also had from WAG £750.000 This year and same next year.
Also wCBC state they follow the guidelines of Highways agency
So have their guidelines gone down
Cause Doing very little on Repair and saying you will do less means they will do Nithing
