Chwarae Teg International Women’s Day community event – from periods to pensions

Location: Tŷ Pawb, Market Street, Wrexham, LL13 8BB

From periods to pensions, Chwarae Teg is holding a multicultural event to celebrate International Women’s Day! A variety of guest speakers and workshops will explore a range of “P” word issues that influence women’s ability to achieve their full potential in the economy. Local Wrexham talent Evrah Rose and other artists will also perform.

The day’s agenda will include:
• Period poverty – Nikki Giant, Strategy and Development Manager, Plan International
• Pride and prejudice – Jenny-Anne Bishop, Unique Transgender Network
• Pay gaps for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Women – Dr. Hade Turkman, Chwarae Teg
• Policies and procedures (family friendly) – Simone McClaughlin, Work 180, Australia
• Preventing sexual harassment in the workplace – Kate Russell, Equality and Human Rights Commission
• Protection and the National Helpline – Ann Williams, Welsh Womens Aid
• Pension inequality – Ann Edwards, Women Against State Pension Inequality
