Acton Park To Host Summer Events

Acton Park will play host to four summer events for children and families throughout August and early September.

To kick things off a fun sports and games session and will take place between 1-3pm on Tuesday 9th Augustfor 6- 16 years old, where they can play a range or sports and games. The event is run in partnership with Acton Detached Youth Team.

Children of all ages can also enjoy a summer treasure trail on Wednesday 17th August from 1-3pm which will involve looking for Acton’s animal friends on a trail around the park.

Then the park will hold a fun day on Wednesday 24th August between 12-4 pm where families can join in with an afternoon of fun including activities involving the North Wales Owl Rescue, face painting, kite making, a tombola and refreshments.

The event is part funded by the Wrexham County Borough Council Adult Community Learning Scheme and supported by the Friends of Acton Park, Acton Detached Youth Team and Acton Park Community Angling Club.

For the final event of the summer a nature walk and craft session will take place on Thursday 1st September. The Acton Park Seasonal Ranger will take people on a walk around the park looking at the interesting nature the park has to offer. The walk will be followed by a fun craft session. This event is suitable for 5-14 year olds and runs from 1pm – 3pm. All the events are free with no booking required; anyone attending is advised to meet by the lake. All children attending the events should be accompanied by an adult.

The events have been organised by Seasonal Ranger Rebecca Dobbins who is working at Acton Park over the summer months, thanks to funding from Acton Community Council.
