Questions to Ask a Wedding DJ

This article is old - Published: Wednesday, Nov 14th, 2018

One of the biggest parts of any wedding day is the evening function and this is where there will be the highest amount of guests. After having an amazing wedding day the wedding evening function is the part of the day where people can let their hair down and dance the night away. As the night of a wedding is so important it is crucial that the DJ is second to none. There are many different DJs that can be booked for weddings, the majority of them will offer the same kind of service. Whilst there are a great range to choose from, it is important to ensure that the right one is selected. On this basis, there are several different wedding questions that should be asked of a DJ before they are booked. One of the crucial questions should be whether the DJ has completed work at a wedding before.

It is important to get an experienced DJ for a wedding function and not somebody who is only just learning their trade. As the first dance at a wedding is a very important event it is important to establish whether the DJ has the song of choice. By asking the DJ this before the wedding it can ensure they can get it if they dont have it already. Many weddings will have a range of different people at them and therefore it is important to establish how many types of music the DJ has. Some DJs will only have a small selection of music and therefore they are unlikely to be suitable for a wedding. Quite often the role of a wedding DJ is quite difficult, as they have to cater for people with a range of different music tastes.

Some of the younger DJs may not be able to cater for all different music tastes as they may not be aware of the older songs and therefore this is always worthwile checking. It always important to question a wedding DJ around the cost of their services so that this can be factored into the wedding budget. Most DJs will have a set price based on the amount of hours they are doing. Some will also charge extra if they have to travel a further distance than they are used to. In some cases a DJ may be sharing a slot with a band, it is worth remembering that some DJs will not change their price despite this.
