Olympic Athlete Pays Visit To Wrexham Swimming Club

Wrexham Swimming Club welcomed a very special guest to one of its training sessions last week.

Lesotho swimmer Masempe Theko took time out of her preparations for London 2012 to join in with sessions the local swimming club.

The Lesotho Olympic team were based in Wrexham as part of their pre-olympic training camp.

Masempe Theko will be one of five athletes representing Lesotho at the Olympic Games. She will be competing in the women’s 50m freestyle and has been training at Waterworld as part of her preparations for the Games.

Head Coach at Wrexham Swimming Club, Hugh Dokter said: “It has been a real pleasure having Masempe train with us here at the club. All our swimmers have benefitted from the opportunity to train with an Olympic swimmer which, for many, will be a once in a lifetime experience.

“Everyone at the club wishes Masempe the very best of luck at the London 2012 Games next week and we’ll be cheering for her.”
