A fundraising evening full of rock and metal music in aid of three different charities will take place in town tomorrow.

The ‘Beth’s Charity Mid-Life Crisis’ event has been organised by Beth Jones, who decided she wanted to do something special to celebrate her upcoming 40th birthday.

Kicking off from 4pm at Central Live Music Venue on Hill Street at 4pm, 12 bands rock and metal bands will perform across two stages during the seven hour gig – with acts including Edd Case, Callus, Scars of Remembrance, Severenth and Lullaby for a Unicorn.

The music will continue between 11pm – 3am there at the ‘Unleashed’ after show party, which is included in the ticket price.

Funds from the night will be split between the Sophie Lancaster Foundation, North East Wales MIND and Ehlers Danlos Support UK which Beth says all mean something special to her.

Speaking to Wrexham.com, Beth said: “It’s my 40th birthday and I wanted to do something special, as having a Christmas birthday is usually rubbish.

“I thought what better way to do it than have a big charity gig because that way I get to have a great time and raise money for charity.

“The three charities all mean something special to me. The Sophie Lancaster Foundation is a great cause, raising awareness of prejudice, hatred and intolerance and trying to teach children and youngsters about tolerance. This was set up by the mother of Sophie Lancaster, who was killed by youths because she was a goth.

“My second charity is North East Wales MIND, because my partner and a lot of my dear friends, and our wider community have a really tough time where mental health is concerned. The work of MIND is paramount in helping support people with mental health issues.

“My final charity is Ehlers Danlos Support UK. They are a charity trying to raise awareness and funding for specialist training and research for a genetic condition called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.

“It is a deformation of collagen, the body’s glue, which causes widespread pain and fatigue, and also messes with pretty much every faculty of your body, leading to many many issues.

“I was diagnosed with it last year and it is probable that my children all have it too, so raising awareness and funding research is really important to me, for their sake.”

She added: “I’d like to say big thank you to North East Wales Metal Productions, Ever Metal, Goodfor Audio and Powerzone for all their help and support and to Central Station for providing the venue.”

The ‘Beth’s Charity Mid-Life Crisis’ fundraising concert will take place from 4pm on Friday 20th December. Entry is a minimum £3 donation on the door. There will also be a raffle throughout the night.
