Wrexham Team To Walk 177 Miles To Raise Money For Cancer Charities
Five Wrexham friends are taking on a truly Welsh challenge and are preparing to walk a total of 177 miles in aid of Macmillan and Leukaemia and Lymphoma research.
Bethan Tait, Stephen Davies, Liam Stokes-Massey, Jason Beresford and Richard Davies will be begin their gruelling expedition in Chepstow on Saturday 20th June, following the ancient path Offa’s Dyke, before finishing in Prestatyn on Monday 29th June
Offa’s Dyke Path is a long-distance footpath following closely the Wales–England border. The 283-kilometre route either follows, or keeps close company with the remnants of Offa’s Dyke – an 8th-century earthwork which usually takes walkers over 12 days to complete.
The group will be following this man made border in aid of two charities which are extremely close to them and their families hearts.
The team are looking to raise huge amounts of sponsorship for both worthy charities and at the time of writing, the group have already raised £425.18 of their £700 target.
If you would like to donate to the group have set up two just giving pages one for each charity: for Leukaemia and Lymphoma research www.justgiving.com/offaswalk1 and Macmillan is www.justgiving.com/offaswalk.
