A class at a Wrexham school has been “isolated” after a member of staff developed symptoms for Covid-19.

The group, at St Christopher’s on Stockwell Grove, have been advised by the head teach to do so as a “precautionary step as we await the outcome of the Covid-19 test.”

The letter continues onto say: “Today we have made the decision to isolate one class in our Innovate phase after a teaching assistant developed symptoms for Covid-19.

“We have taken this action as an early precaution.

“Whilst this action would normally only be taken after a confirmed case, due to the nature of our school and the needs of our pupils we have taken this decision to isolate the class.

“In line with our school policy, all areas affected will be deep-cleaned before we ask pupils and staff to return to this area.

“We have contacted every family and staff member that have been directly impacted by our decision. The rest of school will remain open for staff and pupils.

“I appreciate that this is a very worrying time for you. Please do not hesitate to contact us at school if you have any questions.”
