The results of our entirely unscientific straw poll on the in or out question of EU membership are, er, out!

Last night we conducted a snap poll over the space of two hours to discover the mood of Wrexhamites on the day MP’s voted in favour to hold a EU ‘in / out’ style referendum on the UK’s membership of the European Union.

The final wording of the poll is yet to be finalised, but we asked: “Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union?”

The answers possible were: Yes (In!), No (Out!) and Dont Know (Shake it all about!).

At the time of writing the latest set of national polls by YouGov, ComRes and ICM have the ‘Yes’ (staying in the EU) at 42%, 58% and 47% respectively. This Wikipedia page and relevant anchor link has further details.

If the legislation makes its way, as expected, through the parliamentary system a referendum will be held sometime before the end of 2017.
