Wrexham MP Ian Lucas has welcomed the launching of a Parliamentary inquiry into mobile and broadband links.

The DCMS Select Committee, which Mr Lucas is a member of, announced this week it would be launching the inquiry into both broadband and mobile connectivity in the UK.

He said: “In a world in which we rely more and more on communication devices, these issues have grown in prominence in recent years. I know they have been an issue in Wrexham for many months, and I have been meeting with companies and industry bodies to try to secure improvements locally.

“The issues we have seen in Wrexham are not unique to the town and I am pleased the DCMS Select Committee will be launching this investigation. As Government services increasingly move online, it is timely indeed.”

The Committee is inviting submissions to its inquiry. How to take part, and more about the inquiry itself, can be found at: http://www.parliament.uk/business/committees/committees-a-z/commons-select/culture-media-and-sport-committee/news-parliament-2015/terms-of-reference-connectivity-15-16/
