A man has been jailed at Mold Crown Court for possessing shotguns without a licence and possession of class A drugs with intent to supply.

Robert Jarvis, 33, had several mobile phones and a large quantity of cash when police searched his home address earlier this year.

After an extensive investigation, police found that Jarvis was accessing a large shipping container in the local area. Inside it were a number of shotguns and drugs with a street value of around £200,000.

Robert Jarvis pleaded guilty to possessing a shotgun when prohibited for life, possessing a shotgun without a certificate, possess with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A.

Andrew Warman of the CPS said: “The amount and value of the items seized would seem to indicate that Jarvis was substantially involved in the illegal drugs trade.

“The CPS presented strong evidence to the court, including evidence from drugs and firearms experts, which led to these guilty pleas.”

The sentence hearing took place on 7 May 2019 where Jarvis was sentenced to a total of ten years and four months’ imprisonment.

DI Mark Hughes said: “Robert Jarvis has been a major criminal figure in the illegal drugs trade in our area and is now behind bars where he belongs.

“In a well-planned operation officers seized £596,000 worth of drugs, a substantial amount of cash and six shotguns and ammunition.

“This was a significant haul and I hope the public will feel reassured that these drugs didn’t make their way to his vulnerable victims, that the weapons have been seized and that justice has been done.

“We are eager to hear from anyone with information about the supply of controlled drugs. Call us on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
