Nightclub and music venue Central Station has been saved from administration.

Back in November we reported that Yales Leisure Limited, the company in charge of the venues, had entered administration. However shortly after the Administrators’ appointment, a licence to occupy was granted in respect of the freehold properties to a potential purchaser, which allowed continued operation of the business whilst a sale of the properties is finalised.

Since then Central Station has continued to trade as usual. However over the weekend, the venue on Town Hill closed, which we were told was part of the administration process.

Central Station will reopen its doors to the public on Thursday, when Joey Essex (From ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ fame!) will be the guest at the BEANS student night.

The weekend closure meant that the BEANS, Friday Rocks and Club Night events were cancelled.

A spokesperson from Central Station said: “The good news is that we have saved Central Station and we will be back with a bang next Thursday when Joey Essex appears at Beans, followed by a monster Friday Rocks album launch show featuring ‘My Favourite Runner Up’ and then on Saturday we have Wrexham’s freshest club night.

“All the current shows we have booked are 100% on, and we can’t wait to let you know about all the exciting events we have planned for the rest of 2014. We thank you all for your continued support!”

More information and regular updates about upcoming events at Central Station can be found on their Facebook page here.
