The founder of a Wrexham-based small business has joined other micro-organisations from the UK at a special reception at the House of Lords.

The event brought together small business owners from across the country, who were part of Small Business Britain’s ‘Small and Mighty Enterprise Programme’ – a programme that helps supercharge Britain’s smallest firms in these challenging times.

Delivered by Small Business Britain – the leading champion of small businesses in the UK – the Small and Mighty programme aims to help grow small businesses with expert guidance and mentoring.

This year’s programme was organised in partnership with Xero and ARU Peterborough.

On 8 of June Samantha Harris, one of the founders of Fair Event Management Ltd, attended the reception at the House of Lords to mark the completion of a micro business scaling programme.

Samantha, who was part of the last cohort of the Small and Mighty Enterprise Programme, said: “It has been an absolute pleasure to represent Wrexham and our growing Event industry at this event in the House of Lords.

“To be given to opportunity to share with Kevin Hollinrake MP – the Minister for Enterprise, Markets and Small Business and insight into the amazing work we have been able to achieve across Wrexham with our community-focused events such as Wrexham Feast, Wrexham Artisan Market and Chirk Carnival. “

“Being part of the Small and Mighty Enterprise programme has been invaluable to our business not only helping give us the tools to accelerate our growth but the confidence and resilience to push forward and continue to provide quality and affordable events across the county.”

Michelle Ovens CBE, Founder of Small Business Britain said: “We were so pleased to see so many micro businesses sign up for the Small and Mighty programme!

“These ‘small’ yet ‘mighty’ businesses represent the seeds of our future economy, and it was wonderful to hear about the value this programme brought them.”

“It was rewarding to celebrate with Samantha and all of the phenomenal small businesses involved in this year’s programme at the House of Lords. We must continue to cheer these small firms on, who are working so hard to grow and thrive in this tough economy.”
