Wrexham AFC say they are “delighted” to announce that Wrexham AFC Women have been nominated for ‘Best Club of the Year’, while Manager Steve Dale has also been nominated for ‘Manager or Coach of the Year’ for the Women’s Football Awards 2024.

Having earned promotion to the Genero Adran Premier last summer, the Red Dragons led the way for Women’s football both on and off the pitch.

The club said, “Off the back of setting the Welsh domestic attendance record with 9,511 fans in attendance for their 2-1 victory over Connah’s Quay Nomads in March 2023 before they secured promotion to the top flight, Wrexham AFC Women became the first semi-professional side in Welsh womens football.

“From here, Dale’s side have established themselves firmly in the Top Four of the Genero Adran Premier having enjoyed a successful 2023/24 campaign to date, and also secured a place in the Bute Energy Welsh Cup final for the first time, where they will face Cardiff City on May 5.

In the summer, Wrexham AFC Women will be travelling to the USA, thanks to Ally, as part of the Wrex Coast Tour. The tour will increase the Club’s visibility on a global stage, accelerating its ambitions to become known as a top club worldwide.
