Wrexham AFC say they are “delighted” to announce the signing of midfielder George Evans from Millwall.

Evans, 28, arrives at the STōK Cae Ras on a two-year deal, subject to international clearance, with paperwork submitted with a view to him being available to join the squad at Tranmere Rovers for tomorrow’s derby at Prenton Park.
Evans, who can also play at centre-back, is a product of Manchester City’s youth academy and has also played for Reading and Derby in the Championship.

On signing for Wrexham, he said: “I’m delighted to be here, it’s something that came around quite quick; I’m really excited to sign and I’m desperate to get going.
“I’m ready for a big challenge and hopefully a really positive season.”
Cheadle-born Evans came through the ranks at Manchester City, his boyhood Club, representing them at every level from under-eights through to the first team.

He also spent time on loan with Crewe Alexandra, Scunthorpe United and Walsall, before making a permanent move to Reading in 2016.
The former England youth international made 71 appearances for the Royals, before a move to Derby County in 2018 – spending two-and-a-half seasons with the Rams.

He stayed in the Championship with Millwall, who he has represented on 60 occasions, but now makes the move to the STōK Cae Ras.
