A woman in her 50s has been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision earlier this morning.

Emergency services were called to a two vehicle RTC on the Smithy Lane in Wrexham shortly before 10am this morning.

When we drove past the scene there were two ambulances present and police cars.

Fire engines were seen on Chester Road just before we arrived, however none remained on the scene.

A GHA Bus was parked nearby with hazard lights on, and a small blue car appeared to have frontal damage. We have as yet been unable to confirm if the coach was the second vehicle involved in the incident.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 9.53am to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Smithy Lane in Wrexham. We responded with a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle and a crew in an emergency ambulance, and a woman in her 50s with minor injuries was taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital for a precautionary check-up.”
