Police are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was injured following a collision yesterday morning.

As readers will know police closed off the A541 for several hours yesterday morning.

Shortly before 7:30am police received a report of a collision between a pedestrian and a Vauxhall Astra on the A541 from Mold towards Caergwrle.

An ambulance was called and the pedestrian, a 40-year-old local man, was taken to the Wrexham Maelor Hospital with what was believed to be serious injuries.

Sergeant Emlyn Hughes from North Wales Police’ Roads Policing Unit said: “Thankfully the injuries are not as serious as first thought and the man is recovering in hospital.

“We are appealing to anybody who may have seen the man walking along the road prior to the collision to contact us.

“Anybody with information that could assist our investigation should contact us on 101, or via the live webchat, quoting reference U189454.”
