Witness Appeal After Fatal Pontblyddyn Crash

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Flintshire last night.

At 21:50hrs police were informed of a one vehicle collision involving a red VW Bora on the A541 at Pontblyddyn.

The Fire and Ambulance Service were called to the scene as well as North Wales Police’ Collision Investigation Unit.

One occupant in the vehicle, a 31-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Sergeant Jane Thomas from the Roads Policing Unit said: “I am appealing to anybody who may have witnessed the red VW Bora travelling on the A541 last night from Wrexham towards the Mold direction to come forward.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and anybody with information is asked to contact us on 101.”

Anybody with information should contact officers at the Eastern Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting reference number U037724.

North Wales Police are not yet in a position to release the details of the deceased.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a crash on the A541 by Pontblyddyn just before 10pm last night.

The update provided at half midnight by Inspector Dawn Samuels asked anyone with any information to call police via the 101 number citing reference U037724, with the incident being described as serious.

The road was closed after the crash, with diversions put in place. As of this morning the road has reopened.
