Motorists who use the A483 are being urged to take their rubbish home and not chuck it out of a car window.

Wrexham Council have issued the plea to motorists due to the quantities of litter found on the roadside.

Cllr David A Bithell, Lead member for the Environment and Transport, said: “It’s very time consuming and costly to keep the A483 clear of rubbish.

“It shouldn’t be there in such quantities. We’re asking everyone to please take it home and bin it don’t chuck it.

“Throwing litter from a moving vehicle can also be extremely dangerous to other road users and pedestrians. I am also writing to Cheshire council as the A483 North of Rossett is unsightly and clearly no pride is being taken along this part of the A483.

“If you are caught throwing litter from your vehicle you could also get a fine but we’d rather you took it home and put it in a bin or recycled.

“We want you to be proud of our countryside and want everyone visiting Wrexham to see it at its finest.”
