A summer real ale festival in Wrexham aims to showcase some of Wales’s finest beers and ciders.

The festival, which starts on today will run throughout the bank holiday weekend and take place at community-run pub, Saith Seren.

Marc Jones, who chairs Saith Seren’s board, said: “In the cold winter months we had a very successful real ale festival that highlighted some stouts and porters as well as the lighter ales made in Wales. So we thought we’d try a summer ale festival where we’ll be putting on real ales suitable for a sunny day.

“There’s live music on the Saturday and Sunday and, on top of that, we’ve got some great offers on our food which is locally sourced and home cooked by Ben, our wonderful chef.”

The Saith Seren will also be at community day Wrexfest tomorrow. You can read our report of what’s on here.

Mr Jones added: “We’ll have a stall on Llwyn Isaf as part of WrexFest on Saturday showing off some of the food and drink we’ve got on offer round the corner at Saith Seren. Because we’re ideally placed next door to Queens Square and Llwyn Isaf, we’re looking forward to welcoming all those involved in WrexFest for an afterparty later on with some great live music”
