Weather Warning Issued As Snow & Ice Forecast Overnight
A weather warning covering the Wrexham area has been issued for the next 12 hours, with snow expected to hit the area overnight.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice for most of north Wales, which is in place from 6pm this evening through until 8am tomorrow morning.
Snow flurries have already started to fall on higher ground in Wrexham, particularly in the Brymbo and Bwlchgwyn areas.
Overnight temperatures will drop to 3C – however slightly milder temperatures forecast for tomorrow will mean any longterm hopes of a snow day are unlikely.
The weather early in the morning is expected to be the worst, with the Met Office stating: “Icy patches are expected to form on untreated surfaces this evening and overnight onwards into Sunday morning, especially where further snow showers occur after dark.
“The public are advised to take extra care and be aware of the potential for some disruption to travel.”
