A warning has been issued by police after instances of dodgy £50 notes in the area.

Wrexham police said earlier tonight: “North Wales Police have seen an increase in fake £50 notes or Bank of Scotland notes in Gresford and surrounding areas. Please be vigilant and ensure you check your cash notes.”

Earlier this week we were told of an incident where an individual attempted to buy a low value item in town with a scottish fifty pound note – that was fake.
