Residents are being urged to remain vigilant after an attempted burglary in the Chirk area.

Police say the incident took place yesterday.

Households are now being urged to ensure that their home is secure and to also keep an eye on their neighbour’s properties.

Advice issued by police also includes making your home look occupied with timer switches or by leaving lights on.

Speaking to Wrexham.com earlier this week about a spate of burglaries in the county borough, Wrexham Town Inspector Vic Powell said: “We’re asking people to be vigilant. If a neighbour is out or working then please keep an eye on their homes as well.

“If you see anything suspicious, contact the police.

“We would rather come out to five well intentioned calls than miss the one important call.”
