A video has surfaced online of a confrontation between a driver and someone they allege broke the windows of their vehicle while it was parked in the town centre.

The video, shot on a mobile phone and uploaded last month, has footage of a Vauxhall Corsa with broken windows and an angry interchange man with a ‘bloodied hand’ who apologises after being challenged about the nearby damage.

The footage starts with images of the smashed car, and a hooded person being challenged ‘Oi, get back here you!’.

Following the person out of the Waterworld carpark the driver says “You have just smashed my car to pieces”. The man is then confronted and told police have been called, he responds saying he is sorry, and then claims he is Polish and wants to be deported.

The exchange goes on with the owner pointing out the vehicle was used by a family, and was to be used to transport children that day. The driver alleges that the man in the film ‘stamped’ on the vehicle, which later when presented with the damaged vehicle, the man smiles and says he can see what has been done.

After four and half minutes of the footage the man looks away towards the Police Station and turns and runs, with what appears to be police pursuing the individual on foot towards Chester Street.

The video, embedded below from Youtube, has seen 14,000 extra views in the last day, with it having just 420 views when Wrexham.com first viewed it yesterday afternoon.

Warning – the video contains strong language:

The video was posted to Kate Langwine-Cooke’s Youtube channel early January, and we have contacted her yesterday for further details.

North Wales Police confirm a 24 year old local man was arrested just after 3pm on the 29th of December, the same date and time this video was shot, and was charged with criminal damage and two thefts from a shop.

We are told the man appeared in court in Mold at New Year. Due to the historical nature of this video and its recent surfacing we are as of yet unable to discover the outcome of that appearance in court.

UPDATE: A Wrexham.com’er has posted to the Facebook page to note this report on the Daily Post noting the person filmed was Maciey Blandzinski, “The defendant, aged 23, of no fixed abode, but formerly of Ruthin, admitted criminal damage to the car. He was jailed for four weeks – but at the time was the subject of a four month suspended prison for possessing a knife and that was activated in full – making five months in all. Blandzinski received concurrent seven day sentences for stealing vodka from Iceland and B and M Bargains on the same day.
