Vandals Target Hospital Staff Vehicles Overnight

Staff at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital have been left angry and upset after a number of vehicles were vandalised and broken into overnight.

Earlier today there had been reports that five cars had been damaged overnight while staff left their cars in the car park between the Maelor and Morrisons supermarket.

One member of staff who had their vehicle damaged told Wrexham.com: “They accessed glove compartments and Sat navs were taken. They smashed the passages windows in five random cars as well as a taxi in the car park.”

Calls were also made by one person for more to be done to help prevent this incidents from taking place again

North Wales Police confirmed they had received reports that at least four cars parked in the car park at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital last night. A spokesperson for North Wales Police also confirmed that CSI would be investigating the vehicles that had been damaged.

Reports that a Peugeot had been broken into while parked at the Wrexham Maelor car park were recieved at 6:05am this morning. Nothing was taken from the vehicle, however the windows were damaged.

North Wales Police also received a call at 5:50am with reports of criminal damage to an Astra. Two front door windows were smashed and golfing items were stolen from the vehicle.

A fiat also had the side windows and the rear window smashed while parked in the Wrexham Maelor car park and trainers were stolen from the vehicle.

A Ford Galaxy and Toyota Auris are also believed to have been damaged.
