One person taken to hospital after two vehicle collision in Chirk

One person has been taken to hospital after a crash on the A5 in Chirk this morning.

Emergency services were called to the two vehicle collision near Jewson shortly before 9am.

Both lanes were closed as a result of the incident, however PC Thomas Hough has since confirmed that the lane from Fron to Chirk has been reopened. One lane remains closed while recovery attends the scene.

PC Hough added: “People rubber necking though has just caused another collision at scene. Details exchanged. Keep your eyes on the road.”

A spokesperson for Wales Ambulance Service said: “We were called on Thursday 30 May at approximately 8:45 am to reports of a road traffic accident involving multiple vehicles on the A5 near Chirk.

“We responded with one ambulance and one patient was transported to Maelor General Hospital in Wrexham.”

More information when the road has fully reopened.
