Two people remain in custody after an aggravated burglary that saw a mother and her baby taken to hospital.

Two males have been arrested following an aggravated burglary at an address in Llys y Groes, the new “Erddig Place” development off Croesnewydd Road.

The incident happened at 2.33pm yesterday when the males entered the property and stole items of jewellery.

The female occupant of the address and her baby were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure following the incident.

Acting Detective Chief Inspector Eleri Thomas said: “Thankfully the mother and baby suffered minor injuries, following what is believed to be an isolated incident. Officers are in the vicinity today conducting reassurance patrols.”

Police say males currently remain in custody.

It is unclear if the Chief Constable is referring to this incident in his tweet this afternoon:

Police say, “If you were in the area and witnessed anything suspicious, or may have CCTV or dashcam footage from around that time, please contact Wrexham CID on 101 quoting reference Y132056. Alternatively use the live webchat or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
