Two people have been arrested following a warrant carried out in Wrexham.

On Thursday August 24, the Rural Crime Team conducted a warrant at a property in the Wrexham area in connection with the ongoing investigation into the theft of cows from Llannerchymedd, Anglesey.

A 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to steal.

Police say that both have been released under investigation.

A vehicle used in the commission of the offence was located and seized along with a stolen quad bike and two trailers.

During the warrant, the RSPCA were requested to attend the location in relating to the welfare of several dogs that were present.

Subsequently, a section 9 notice was served which requires action to be taken regarding improving animal welfare.

A follow up visit will be carried out by the RSPCA.

Sergeant Peter Evans, of the Rural Crime Team, said: “The warrant executed with my team would not have been possible without the support of officers and staff from North Wales, and Cheshire Police, this included our drone unit and a specialist vehicle examiner from the National Rural Crime Unit.”
