The travellers who occupied a field in Rhosddu have left overnight with a car, confirmed to be a police car, being been burnt out.

The Travellers who had occupied the site for the last few days left overnight, with the field clear of vehicles by this morning.

There had been talk of rubbish being left, however we only saw some bagged by the bins nearby.

A police car had been left parked, empty, for most of the time the land was occupied. In a similar position this morning there was the remains of what appeared to be a burnt vehicle.

Several people have said to Wrexham.com they believe it was a police car, and later today we were able to confirm it was a police vehicle. An empty police vehicle has been on the site for the last couple of days.

The Council were due to take steps to clear the site this coming week, however with the departure overnight such action is no longer needed.
