Over running roadworks caused traffic chaos on the A483 this morning.

Motorists have been left frustrated this morning with roadworks on the A483 / A55 over running at the Posthouse roundabout with the pinch point roadworks scheduled to take place over night.

The over running works have caused long tailbacks on the A483 northbound, with traffic backed up until the Gresford Roundabout.

The junction near the Posthouse Rounadbout reopened at around 7:30am, however it is believed traffic is at a slow crawl, with traffic building up as early as 7am this morning.

Bypass-Closed

Owen Thomas tweeted to say: “Any ideas on what the diversions are today on the A483 to Chester. One hour from Gresford to the Llay bridge.”

One person tweeted Wrexham.com saying: “To everyone travelling towards Chester this morning: The bypass is closed and has caused an absolute nightmare traffic wise!”

Others have described this morning’s traffic as a complete ‘Joke’. Some reported delays of up to two hours on the road.

As of 8:30am traffic is still building up at the Gresford roundabout, with motorists using Plas Acton Road / Bluebell Lane – causing traffic in that direction.

Leanne Harris told us: “Don’t divert through Llay either absolute mayhem!”. However Mike Corris said: “I got to Chester going put Carden Park. Only about half hour that way.”

As of 9:47am traffic has cleared up on the A483 Northbound.
