Shops across Wrexham are preparing to reopen fully to customers for the first time since December.

On Monday non-essential retail will open as part of a number of changes to the coronavirus restrictions being introduced.

Such businesses have been closed since before Christmas, when a strict stay at home lockdown was reintroduced in Wales.

Parking in all council run car parks only – excluding Ty Pawb – are also free to use after 11am.

Time limits are in place in the short stay car parks will apply and should be observed – fines will be issued to vehicles staying longer than permitted in short stay car parks.

Also reopening on Monday are Wrexham’s indoor markets, the Ty Pawb food court and the Monday outdoor market.

A spokesperson for Wrexham Council said: “This is an important time to help support our local businesses.

“But remember – the virus has not gone away and it is just as important as ever to stay safe as lockdown measures continue to be eased.

“It’s still essential though that we all keep following social distancing guidelines, use the hand sanitisers available in the shops and markets and wear a face mask unless you are exempt.

“Our social distancing champions will once again be out and about to assist you and answer any queries.

“Traders need your support now more than ever so please pay them a visit – it will be appreciated.”
