Retailer TK Maxx is to relocate from its long standing unit in Wrexham Town Centre and move to a new retail park store.

Locally the relocation of the store has been rumoured for a number of weeks, however the move was yesterday confirmed by Savills who said the company ‘has let a retail warehouse unit at Plas Coch Retail Park in Wrexham to TK Maxx’.

The store has been a long term occupier of Island Green and is one of the few original stores left on the site.

However TK Maxx is set to move to its new store on Plas Coch and is believed to have signed a 15-year lease to take on a 10,068 sq ft unit on the retail park.

When Wrexham.com went down to Plas Coch Retail Park yesterday work was well underway on the former JJB store.

Plas Coch Retail Park is already home to Frankie and Benny’s, DW Sport, Boots, Pets and Home and Sports Direct. The relocation of TK Maxx will mean that the Plas Coch Retail Park is now full to capacity, with the store filling the remaining vacant store.

Particulars we have seen state TK Maxx will be paying an annual rent of £201,360 and also have ‘plans to extend the internal floor space by adding a new sales mezzanine’ to dual level the store.

The date of the relocation of TK Maxx has not yet been confirmed.
