Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a shop late last night – the third incident of its kind to take place in Wrexham in the past seven days.

The incident took place at the Premier Stores on Victoria Road, Brynteg, Wrexham, shortly after 9:30pm Sunday February 5.

Three men entered the shop, one was armed with a knife and threatened staff, but no one was injured.

Two tills were stolen from the premises and the suspects made off towards the Holbourn Crescent area. It is not known at this time if they had a car parked in the area.

DS Anne-Louise Jones said: “Thankfully no one was hurt. This is the third such incident in a week, which we believe are linked.

“I am appealing to any witnesses or anyone who may have information to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting reference V017141.”

On Friday 3 February Wrexham.com reported of an armed robbery at the Premier Stores in Wheatsheaf Lane, Gwersyllt, in which three men entered the premises and threatened staff.

One man was armed with a knife, but no one was injured. A till was stolen before the men made off in a black coloured vehicle.

A local man was arrested on suspicion of robbery but was later bailed.

Just days before at 10:10pm on Wednesday February 1 thieves stole the till at Bargain Booze Heol Celyn, Coedpoeth, while the member of staff was in a back room.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police said there was ‘no confrontation’.
