Police and the ambulance service have been called to attend the new Sports Direct store in Wrexham town centre.

The emergency services were called around 2:50pm.

Two nearby witnesses have said the emergency service response was in relation to an incident inside the store itself.

North Wales Police have told us, “Three males have been arrested on suspicion of a wounding incident in Henblas Street around 2.50 today. They are all in custody.”

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson has told us: “We were called to reports of a medical emergency on Henblas Street, Wrexham at approximately 2.51pm today Friday 04 September. We responded with one rapid response car and one emergency ambulance.

“One patient was conveyed to Wrexham Maelor Hospital for further treatment.”

One eyewitness has told us an arrest was made near to the town centre Tesco store. Another told us ‘armed police’ arrested an individual, and have since cordoned off an area.
