Households across Wrexham remain without water this afternoon due an initial “supply interruption” and three burst pipes.

Many awoke first thing this morning to find they either had low pressure or no water coming from their taps.

An issue with a “supply interruption” was first recorded just before 6am. A burst pipe in Rhosnesni was later found.

In a new statement, the company says: “Our teams continue to work hard to repair the three pipes in Wrexham that burst this morning.

“We’re seeing an increasing number of customers seeing their water supply return as we’ve been able to move water around our network in a different way.

“While we continue with the repairs, we’ll keep our fleet of tankers in operation so we can carry on injecting water directly into our network to help get supplies back on. We’re also delivering bottled water directly to our most vulnerable customers.

“We can’t thank our customers in Wrexham enough for their continued patience and support while we work to get your water supply back on.”

Original story and updates from this morning below:

Update: The company say that its engineers have found a second burst pipe causing supply issues.

A statement reads: “We have teams on site at both bursts, and it will be our priority to fix them and get the water back on quickly.

“We are starting to see the water come back on for some customers across the area, and while we begin work to repair the second burst pipe, we will continue to use tankers and move water around the network.

“We’re so sorry for the disruption caused this morning, we know how hard it is to have no water, especially during these times, but want to assure you we’re doing everything we can to get the water back on.

“We also want to say a big thank you to everyone for their continued patience and understanding.”

Update: Hafren Dyfrdwy say its engineers have now also located a burst water pipe in the Rhosnesni area of Wrexham, which is causing some customers to have little or no water this morning.

In a statement the company say: “We’re really sorry about this and our top priority is getting everyone’s water back on and everything working back to normal as soon as we can.

“We’re currently bringing tankers in to help inject water directly into our network, and moving water around the network to get everything back up and running as normal.

“Again, we’re really sorry for the problems caused this morning from the boosters, and now the burst pipe – but our teams are working hard to get the water back on as and everything back to normal as quickly as they can.

Original: A supply interruption has meant residents across Wrexham have woken this morning to no water.

Hafren Dyfrdwy say the issue has been caused by an “issue with one of its booster stations”. As a result this has caused “pressure in the main water pipes to drop.”

The problem has affected households in the LL12, LL13, LL14 areas – however those living in the LL11 areas have reported issues.

In a statement the company say: “Our engineers are now on site investigating the root cause of the booster issue affecting supplies across Wrexham.

“Our teams are aiming towards having the issue resolved and your water supply back on for 11:00am – this is given that the team don’t run into any complications.

“If it looks more complicated, we’ll let you know. We thank you for your continued patience.”
