Wrexham’s current New Look store has closed for good – however the local team say this is “not goodbye” and that there is a “happy ending” for the company.

The rumoured move was confirmed via a post on the local store’s Instagram account this morning:

A different town centre store site has reportedly been identified for use, and looks likely to be the end location for the brand as and when it reappears, and the end result could see three units in use in the town centre rather than two with another entity reworking their plans.

The move appears a done deal, as in the above post it states the brand’s story in town “definitely does have a happy ending”.

The current location has been on and off the market in recent years, most recently being offered on auction for £900,000 for the freehold. During that auction the details noted: “The property is entirely let to New Look Retailers Limited for a term expiring on 14th November 2023. The current passing rent is £130,000 per annum.”

That figure is substantially reduced from previous rental, as when the store was listed with an asking price of £3.5m the rent was stated as £375,000 pa.

Wrexham.com approached New Look HQ for details of the move last night, however they have not responded.  Late this afternoon a New Look spokesperson told us, “I can confirm our Wrexham store has permanently closed.  We don’t have any further information to share on this.”
