A bus service to Tanyfron which recently lost its Council funding has been saved, and will run without a council subsidy.
Councillor Paul Rogers told Wrexham.com this morning that the Arriva Service 14 to Brymbo which serves Lodge and Tanyfron will be saved following discussions with the operator.

A petition with hundreds of signatures from the area against the proposed cuts was presented to Wrexham Council as part of the budget consultation.

Since the decision Councillor Rogers has held a meeting with bus operator Arriva following concerns raised by many local residents who said they would be greatly affected if bus services were to be withdrawn.

Following the meeting it has now been confirmed by Arriva that the service will continue without a subsidy.

Confirming the news Councillor Paul Rogers said

“The decision by Arriva to continue serving Tanyfron is very much welcome and I am sure it will be appreciated by residents who use the service”

“I am pleased that in recent years we have more than doubled bus services to Tanyfron and I will do all I can to retain these services in these difficult times”

“I would like to thank Arriva Buses Wales for discussing the situation and their commitment to maintaining this route”
