A local community came together last week to enjoy on a successful summer fun day in Rhosddu Park.

Hundreds of residents attended the event, which took place at Rhosddu Park on Tuesday.

The park was full of family-friendly stalls and attractions, including a bouncy castle, craft activities, tennis training from Wrexham Tennis Centre, storytelling, face painting, dog grooming and bowls activities provided by Bradley Park Bowling Club. There was a fancy-dress competition at 1.30pm.

The local Spar, Tesco and Asda stores provided free refreshments. Other groups involved in the fun day included the Salvation Army, AVOW, North Wales Police, St James’ Church, the Community Church, Methodist Chapel and Rhosddu CC.

Wrexham MP Ian Lucas, who coordinated the event alongside local groups and organisations, said the day was an example of ‘Wrexham at its best’.

“These events are real community occasions,” he continued.

“A whole host of local clubs, businesses and groups get involved and their continued support is greatly appreciated.

“It is always good to see people coming together like this, and the park was full of people enjoying themselves. We have been running these fun days for several years now and I hope it’s something we can do for many years to come.”
