A group of stroke survivors have invited Wrexham’s Assembly Member to join in with their Christmas festivities.

Lesley Griffiths AM was invited by New Steps Life After Stroke to enjoy their Christmas dinner which took place at the Maesgwyn Community Centre on Lilac Way in Wrexham.

The group offers support for stroke victims and meet every Wednesday between 10am and 1pm. All stroke survivors are welcome to attend the session to enjoy the positive atmosphere and interact with other members.

New Steps Life After Stroke, which is celebrating its 5th anniversary, was founded by Arthur Millington and is supported by the charity, Stroke Association.

Arthur Millington’s tireless efforts have been recognised by the local Offa Community Council, who named Mr Millington their Citizen of the Year for 2015.

Lesley Griffiths AM said: “I’d like to thank Arthur and the members of New Steps Life After Stroke for inviting me to their Christmas dinner, as well as Dot from Dot-to-Dot’s Bistro on Wrexham General Station, who cooked and catered the fabulous meal.”

“Over the last five years, the group has had a positive impact on the lives of many members. I am glad Arthur’s work in the community has been recognised and he is fully deserving of his award.”
