A car has been damaged after what is believed to have been shotgun pellets were fired at the vehicle overnight.

Earlier this morning there had been reports locally that ‘gunshots’ had been heard in the Rhosddu area of Wrexham, with Kerry Maddocks telling Wrexham.com: “Police lining my street this morning in Rhosddu. Gunshots fired at a house apparently.”

This morning North Wales Police have confirmed they attended an incident in the area in the early hours of this morning.

DI Neil Harrison said: “We were called to reports of criminal damage to a vehicle parked in Wynn Avenue Rhosddu Wrexham at around 2.11am today.

“At this stage we believe the damage may have been caused by shotgun pellets sometime between 10pm last night and 1.30am. CSI officers are in attendance and we are carrying our enquiries in the area.”

No one has been injured as a result of the incident.

Anyone with any further information is advised to call North Wales Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 500 111 quoting reference S138363.
