Update: Trains Running ‘Smoothly’ After Vehicle Strikes Penyfford Bridge

Update: Trains are now running normally between Shotton and Wrexham General following a vehicle striking a bridge at Penyfford.

Original Story: There are currently ‘severe’ train delays on a busy Wrexham train service after a vehicle struck a bridge in Penyfford.

As a result of the incident there are train delays on Arriva’s Wrexham to Bidston service, with residual delays of up to 55 minutes while services recover. Trains are believed to be terminating when arriving at Shotton Station.

It is estimated that the service will be up and running by 1pm, however Arriva Trains Wales are listing the delays as ‘severe’ on their website.

A bus service will be provided for those scheduled to use the Wrexham to Bidstom service, with Pat’s coaches will depart Bidston at 11:32 and 12:32 for stations to Wrexham Central.

Pat’s coaches will depart Shotton at approximately 11:30 for stations to Bidston.
