Seven Arrested After Four People Left With Stab Wounds

Seven people have been arrested following an incident by Whitegate Road that left four people with ‘stab wound type injuries’ on Friday evening.

DI Neil Harrison at Wrexham CID said today: “At about 10pm on Friday 10th April 2015 North Wales Police were informed of a disturbance that had taken place earlier that same evening at the Skate Park in the Whitegate Road area of Wrexham involving a number of people.

“The incident left four people with stab wound type injuries which, fortunately are not serious.

“As a result of this information seven people, six adults and one youth all from the Wrexham area have been arrested, six for affray and one for breach of the peace, a 35 year old woman who was later released without charge.’

“The six arrested for affray have been interviewed and are now on bail pending further enquiries.

“If anyone was in the area at the time and can assist us build a comprehensive picture of what took place we’d like to hear from them.

On the evening several people got in touch to say that not only the road was closed off, but there were large numbers of police conducting enquiries after an incident. One resident said: “Police all over Whitegate park, every exit blocked with tape, dogs out.” Other reported the police helicopter flying ‘very low’ over the scene.
