Saturday’s Wrexham Artisan Market to be ‘showcase’ of local and national products

Wrexham.com for people living in or visiting the Wrexham area

The upcoming Wrexham Artisan Market on Saturday is set to dazzle attendees with a vibrant array of offerings from over 80 independent traders and businesses.

Organised by Fair Event Management Ltd this quarterly extravaganza is scheduled to grace Queens Square and Queens Street in Wrexham city centre.

Enthusiastic patrons can expect a showcase of 82 traders, featuring a delightful mix of local treasures and nationally acclaimed faves. Notable participants include O’Donnell Moonshine, Bev’s Been Baking, Chip’d, Blooming Amazing Plants & Gifts, Arty Handmade Crafts and Gifts, and Draig Creations, among others.

Organisers say, “With an impressive lineup of over 80 independent businesses, you’ll find everything from delicious cakes and bakes to mouthwatering street food and unique gifts for all occasions!

“Plus, bring the whole family and join in on the Easter egg trail – complete the trail for a chocolate egg and enter to win a family pass to WrexSands!

“Join us from 10am to 4pm as Queens Square comes alive with the vibrant atmosphere of the market, stretching all the way down Queens Street. It’s going to be a day full of fun, food, and fabulous finds! See you there! ”

“As the Artisan Market is quarterly it is a reason to go, it’s not going to be there next month. It is like the Victorian Market, it is an event itself, there is a vibrant atmosphere in the streets. We are not the market town we used to be, it is slightly different now, and Wrexham is adapting. Come and give it a go, otherwise you will have to wait until May!

“Wrexham is thriving. The market town is thriving. It’s just not there every day of the week. There is vibrancy, but you have got to get behind that vibrancy when it’s on.

Of the 82 traders, 33 hail from Wrexham, showcasing the bustling entrepreneurial spirit within the community. Noteworthy local establishments such as Alticcio Wine Store, Bank St Social, CiCi, Obhei African Market, and Eyecadia will proudly display their wares. In a bid to enhance accessibility and engagement, some stores like CiCi and Obhei African Market, located in Chapter Court on Queens Street, will extend their presence by setting up stalls outside their premises.

Adding to the event’s appeal, the market will host local charity AVOW, aligning with the launch of its trial Saturday opening for its Shopmobility service. This strategic move aims to maximise inclusivity and outreach to all members of the community.

Although the “we didn’t know it is on” crowd will never be happy, there is a noteable extra promo push for events, with organisers noting why traders are front and centre of the ads, “We have been pushing all the digital ads and boards out and it is all about pushing the trader not the market. We’ve highlighted businesses that would benefit from being on the digital boards and adverts because obviously the cost of them can be astronomical really for a small business.

“We’ve looked at it from a different angle of, actually we can provide small businesses with support through marketing in different ways? It’s marketing the Artisan Market and it is showcasing those that might not always get the spotlight as well. The likes of Bev’s Been Baking, she’s well known in the area, but she’d never be able to afford to promote her business on digital ad boards. We are being creative to promote businesses, like Cici’s, we’re bringing some of the city center shops in front of their shop – they’re having a gazebo outside their shop that we’re providing at no cost”.
