The 1st of March falls on a Sunday and Saith Seren, Wrexham’s community-run Welsh Centre on Chester Street, will be celebrating with a fair of Welsh crafts and produce.

Organiser Ann Phillips said: “To celebrate St David’s Day this year, we’re inviting local producers and craftspeople to have a stall at Saith Seren to sell and display their goods.

“The stalls are free and anyone interested in the limited number available should contact me on [email protected] or 07874 119311.”

“There are a growing number of food and drink producers in the area as well as people making original crafts and our national day is a great opportunity to showcase these for the entire community.”

Marc Jones, who chairs Saith Seren, added: “Saith Seren is always happy to host any event that promotes local enterprises and St David’s Day is a great opportunity to do just that.

“We’ll have some warming cawl available for people after the parade as well as a welcoming Welsh atmosphere for all.”

“This is the first annual St David’s Day parade that has fallen on a Sunday and it’s a chance for people who haven’t been able to make it in the past to take part.

“We’re also hoping that schools will continue to participate as they have in recent years and make it a special day.”

(Usually plans for the parade are circulated in the coming week or so, and we will update readers of them when we have them!)
