‘Robust Action’ To Be Enforced To Help Tackle Antisocial Behaviour At Wrexham Bus Station
‘Robust action’ is being taken against those found to be behaving antisocially at the Wrexham Bus Station – with additional patrols being used to help tackle the ongoing problems.
The action has been enforced over the past few weeks, with additional officers and patrols being deployed in and around the Wrexham Bus Station on King Street.
The police clampdown comes as a result of ongoing issues with antisocial behaviour in the area.
In recent months there have been a number of reports from members of the public regarding antisocial behaviour and disruption being carried out by a handful of people in the Wrexham Bus Station.
Issues at Wrexham’s bus station have been well documented and ongoing for sometime, with drug paraphernalia discovered in the public toilets at the bus station back in February.
A similar approach to antisocial behaviour in the bus station / King Street area was taken in October 2015, when town centre officers launched ‘Operation Bridal’. The operation came off the back of a number of complaints about drug use and inappropriate behaviour in and around the bus station.
As a result of the recent increase in patrols, four people were arrested at the bus station on Friday 15th April for public order offences / being disorderly at the facility.
Speaking to Wrexham.com, Town District Inspector Simon Kneale noted that officers will monitor the situation and any issues at the bus station with Wrexham Council, bus station security and CCTV.
He added: “We will take robust action against those acting disorderly and causing distress to those using the bus station.”
